Whaleshark Adventure around Isla Mujeres from Cozumel

In this ocean safari, the quest will be to find these majestic Whale sharks (Rhincodon typus). These breathtaking giants migrate each year between May and September.

You will be fully briefed about these captivating Whale sharks. Starting this tour with a continental breakfast, you will be ready to seize the opportunity to voyage to the Mesoamerican Barrier reef in search of their favorite places to play.

Explore the bustling underwater ecosystem, where these seasonal visitors like to hang out. You will be snorkeling with these tranquil sea creatures, reported to grow as large as a Van.

The island of Mujeres has the most breathtaking marine fauna. 0n this reef expedition you can snorkel the ‘rain forests of the sea’, marvel at the hundreds of species living together.

The end to this perfect day will be when you arrive at Playa Norte. A feast is prepared just for you, exquisite fresh Ceviche and Guacamole will be served by your crew.

  1. Meet at 6:30 at the Ferry Pier entrance under the Swallows' monument.
  2. Start your check in, here you will have to pay the remaining balance.
  3. Depart on ferry to Playa Del Carmen at 7:00am.
  4. Meet your Host out front of ferry terminal.
  5. Travel in A\C transportation to Marina Punta Sam.
  6. Arrive at Punta Sam Ferry Terminal Arrive at the Marina Punta Sam.
  7. The guides will give you a briefing about the whale shark swim.
  8. In the terminal we serve a small continental breakfast. (It is recommended to eat lightly)
  9. Board the boat.
  10. Approximately 40-to-60-minute journey to the whale shark sighting area.
  11. Arrive at the spot, the guide will give instructions on how the operation will be for snorkeling with the whale shark.
  12. You will be accompanied by a certified guide in the ocean.
  13. Professional photo shoot is available currently to capture your swim with these impressive sea creatures, which are the largest fish in the world.
  14. Voyaging to a beautiful coral reef, boasting breathtaking Species of Marine Flora and Fauna. (This will take approximately 20 mins)
  15. At the end of the day, you will arrive at Playa Norte, where our crew will create a delicious banquet of fresh Ceviche and Guacamole.
  16. Relax, swim, and enjoy. The crew will have ice cold beers or refreshments available (approximately time at the destination 40-60 min).
  17. We will return to the maritime terminal. Transport returning you to Playa Del Carmen will be ready and waiting for you.
  18. Return to Ferry Terminal.
  19. When you arrive at Playa del Carmen, you can spend as much time as you wish and return to the island anytime. Please be aware that the last ferry leaves at 10:00 pm and ensure you have enough time to catch it. The ferry tickets we will provide to you, are good for any departure that day.

Our main goal is to swim with whale sharks however you should know that whale sharks are not in a cage or in captivity, they are in the wild, so… we may see a lot of them, very few of them or even, in some cases (2% of times) none. we are on an EXPEDITION!!!

  • It is important to be aware that the remaining balance will be charged at the meeting point (preferably in cash). Credit card may be used, but you will have to pay the added 10% bank commission. 
  • IMPORTANT: We are committed to protecting the ocean environment and the Mesoamerican Barrier reef; therefore, the use of any type of sunscreen, sunblock, or suntan lotion which could eventually make its way into the ocean is no longer allowed. We suggest the use of long-sleeved UV-filtering shirts, hats, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. Coral, fish, and all other sea creatures thank you for your cooperation! 
  • Recommended Dress: Casual, comfortable clothing. Swimsuit and towel. Hat, long UV shirt and sunglasses.
  • If for any reason you decide to have breakfast before attending the tour, we recommend that you eat something light.

  • FREE cancellation and full refund will be issued if notified within a minimum of 24 hours prior to your tour time; if it is made within less than 24 hours in advance, booking fees cannot be refunded
  • If you show up under the influence of drugs or alcohol, we will not allow you to take part in the activity and we will not issue a refund.
  • Our tours can operate in light rain and other moderate weather conditions; however, tour may be canceled in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions with a full refund.

Safety & Health Guidance

  • Guests must follow safety guidelines from the staff to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
  • Staff will remind guests to keep physical distance, during the reception and brief-in
  • Health screening of guests at the check-in will be made through a quick test that involves temperature checking; any guest showing signs of respiratory illness such as coughing, and sneezing will be excluded from the tour
  • Each guest will be asked to sign a declaration of health upon arrival
  • We will allow healthy people to enjoy the tour; the staff will encourage guests to use a face mask/face covering upon arrival. Due to local government policies, the use of face mask/face covering is mandatory
  • Guests must wear face mask/face coverings in common areas, near other guests, and when interacting with the staff
  • The staff will provide each guest antibacterial gel (at least, 70% alcohol) upon arrival
  • We have additional hand sanitizing dispensers to reduce the spread of viruses and bacteria
  • We will encourage guests to follow the handwashing protocol frequently, with soap and water for 20 seconds before and after any activity
