How to choose your Snorkel Excursion at Cozumel

Preparing for a memorable vacation is relatively easy, but choosing the right things to do with your family? That can be pretty tough, but worry not! For today I shall help you on your quest, and together we will make sure that whatever you decide to do, fits your needs.

Now, here at Cozumel, it is well known that one of the things you must do before anything else is snorkel, and since this is one of the most popular activities (Alongside scuba diving), there are plenty of options to choose from, so allow me to simplify the task of searching and summarize it for you.

SNORKELING BY VIP GLASS BOTTOM BOAT "CUBANA" AT COZUMEL

This activity is one that the tour agency "Safe Tours Cozumel" operates. You'll get to spend two hours aboard a boat with a size of forty feet; the ship is equipped with a glass bottom, a bathroom/dressing room, and a sundeck. The crew will keep you safe and teach you everything there is to know about the areas you'll visit.

Who do I recommend this excursion to?

This is an excellent option if you're coming with children, elders, or from a cruise ship due to the amount of time you'll spend on the boat. Since it only lasts two hours, your family won't get tired, and they'll be able to do something else with their day after snorkeling. If you are coming on a cruise ship, this gives you the flexibility to visit some other spots on the island. Lastly, I think this is great if you are a first-time snorkeler.

 CLEAR BOAT AT COZUMEL

This is a newer option here on the island, but it's worth mentioning. The Clear Boat allows you to cruise Cozumel's waters and see all the marine life without getting a single hair on your head wet, and I see how this might be confusing in an article about snorkeling tours. Still, you will get around fifteen minutes of snorkeling at the end of the excursion.

Who do I recommend this excursion to?

Perfect for children, elders, and people scared of the ocean.

SNORKELING AT COLOMBIA, PALANCAR & EL CIELO BY PANGA

We are finally getting to our options for snorkeling at El Cielo, and what better way to start than by the most popular one; A trip on a panga. A panga is a small boat that can sometimes fit up to eighteen passengers. It is a standard option for people to go to El Cielo because its price is in the lower range of the scale. We are talking about a four-hour tour to some of the most popular spots in Cozumel that even divers visit.

Who do I recommend this excursion to?

Young people and families without small children or elders. The longevity of the excursion can be tiring, and that is why we recommend this for younger adults. Also, if you are a fluent Spanish speaker, you'll feel right at home.

SNORKELING AT COLOMBIA, PALANCAR & EL CIELO FROM TORTUGAS BEACH

Another option of a four-hour tour to El Cielo, and even though you probably think that there can't be much of a difference between each option, I'm afraid you would be wrong. This is where picking what's best for you comes into play. We've been working with Tortugas Beach Club for a while now, and we trust them entirely, their boats are considerably larger than pangas, and they allow for more mobility on the way to the destinations.

Who do I recommend this excursion to?

Families with children over the age of 9, young adults, and people looking to party. I get that I've said before that tours to El Cielo aren't that great for children, but here is where the exceptions begin, the larger the ship, the easier it will be for them to stay distracted and let out their pent up energy. And about the partying, this is in no way a party boat, but you can still feel the vibe.

Again, again, again (I could probably come up with something more clever), check out our promotional video and our vlog to get a clearer idea of what it consists of!

DOUBLE REEF SNORKEL, EL CIELO & PLAYA MÍA BY CATAMARAN

Here we have the fanciest of the fanciest options to sail through the ocean here at Cozumel (Excluding a yacht, of course). A Catamaran with a large capacity of passengers (picture the size) will take you to everyone's dream locations while drinking cold beverages and dancing. Rapunzel referred to this when singing I have a dream; you can quote me on that.

Who do I recommend this excursion to?

Everyone. Literally everyone. Kids? Sure (as long as they are over 11 years old), Your grandparents? Climb aboard! Your noisy neighbor? They'll tell everyone about this, which in all honesty, works great for us! The truth is, if you like luxury, there's no other choice but this one.

And here are all the options I think are worth checking out if you are still deciding on snorkeling at Cozumel. There will always be something for you to do here, this is the island where dreams come true, but our choices must fit our ideals.

Now you can go ahead and continue planning your trip to Cozumel; we've got the snorkel part covered, but what else would you like to do?
